Preschool Nature Programming

Our Preschool Nature Club is for children agres 2 to 6 and a caregiver. Children are provided opportunities to engage with and learn together in the natural environment. Focused nature activities and stories are shared and kids and parents have time to connect with nature, get immersed in play, and learn from nature around them. This program aims to build appreciation for the outdoors and emphasizes story, learning, and play when in nature. Program is based on a Forest and Nature School philosophy.

Programs generally run in the Spring, Winter, and Fall.

Hiking

Hiking to explore plants, animals and trees is a common activity. Bird watching is also a favourite!

Loose parts

Year round we find things in nature to be a part of play. There is always enough mud, snow, sticks, etc for everyone to play and share!

Nature Activities

This activity is a scavenger hunt to find items in nature. Then we use the items for Loose Parts Play!

Tree Climbing

Tree climbing is a great opportunity to get to know a tree and to build confidence and trust.

Gathering at the Canvas

We gather at the canvas to draw or share our reflections and observations from our time in nature.
